About me

I'm Mrinal, and I build things to understand them.

By day I am a research assistant in the Skene Lab at the UK Dementia Research Institute, Imperial College London. I work on microglia, the immune cells of the brain, and where one transcription factor binds in them across disease states. The aim is to connect that binding to the genetics of Alzheimer's disease.

The rest of the time I build AI tools: agents that do boring jobs for me, software that makes my analysis more repeatable, and the plumbing that keeps my coding assistants running. Some of it is research software, some of it is just for fun, and most of it started because something annoyed me.

This site is where I keep all of it. Every project has a small game you can play, written in plain code with made-up data, and then my honest write-up of what the real thing does and where it falls short. If a project's code is public you will find the link. If it is private, I say so.

It is hosted on Google AI Studio and written in React. Your best scores are saved in your own browser only. I do not track you and there are no accounts.
